Dry Needling

What Is Dry Needling?
This is a technique many of our chiropractors offer. Our Chiropractors have completed basic and advanced certification in dry needling. Dry needling is a fantastic technique and adjunct to chiropractic in helping to remove muscle spasm, aches and pains.

How does Dry Needling Work ?

A thin sterile acupuncture needle ( often as thin a few strands of hair) is inserted into a tight band of muscle ( called a trigger point). This has impact on the body by relaxing muscle, reducing pain ( modulating movement receptors of the body to block pain receptors ), increasing blood flow and improving healing.
The benefits of dry needling may be felt the same day or up to a couple of days. Dry needling can target muscles deeper and more specific than massage and manipulation with hands alone.

Some common symptoms that may benefit from dry needling include:

  • Back Pain
  • Neck Pain
  • Headaches
  • Sciatica
  • Sports Injuries
  • Muscle spasms
  • Tennis Elbow
  • Plantar Fasciitis ( Pain under the feet)
  • Muscle Sprains
  • Ligament Strains
  • Carpal Tunnel
  • Tendonitis
  • Bursitis
  • Chronic Pain
